Our cornelian cherry tree bears many fruit this year, and they are ripe now. Hubby picked about 3 kilograms today, and didn't even have to touch the higher branches above his reach.
I cooked the berries and put them through a food mill to remove the seeds, then stored half of the mush in the freezer for later use, and made jam from the other half. The jam turned out quite delicious, especially the jars where I added cinnamon.
The cherries were so very ripe, they were only slightly tarty anymore, and the jam is pretty sweet although I used 1:3 preserving sugar.
