Back before I moved, I used to get annoyed at the large crowds that frequently gathered at the Scottish Rite Temple across the street, mostly because they took up parking and many of the freemasons, upon leaving, seemed to have a slim grasp of the concept of right-of-way. I used to wonder what it was they were gathering for- potlucks? weddings? planning anti-Catholic rallies? Who knows, right? It made me a bit nervous.
But today I found out from my friend Matt what they're actually doing: Roller Derby. And apparently they garner quite the crowd for it.
I have a newfound respect for the Shriners. Now, if they'd only realize that stop signs apply to them also....
