Ich liebe Berlin!
The music scene over here is wonderful! I've been going to a lot of concerts, and I'm amazed at how well-supported it is by the public. If only we had this kind of mentality over in the States... Even though some of the music is garbled and over-intellectualized, it's still there as a prominent cultural entity, and people are so proud of their great operas and orchestras.
I heard about David Diamond, and I'm glad that he was able to continue writing and be more-or-less active in the music world until his death. But still... This is a sad year.
You wouldn't believe what they have a production of here: Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District!! I have tickets for this next Saturday, and I can barely wait.
So yeah. A LOT more than just that, but I'll be getting online hopefully more than last week.
