Seven Deadly Stages

Nov 15, 2006 19:51

Wednesday is gone! And pretty soon they'll be made that much more bearable: we're finally getting a senior basketball team together at school! I forgot just how much I missed playing that game. It's perhaps one of the only sports I'm actually any good at (not the best, but pretty good). And to top it all off...we get cheerleaders!

So yeah, that made my day. As well as talking to architects/engineers about future career plans. That was cool (but they're not exactly cheerleaders).

Chapter 14 of my book.

Life is good.

Well, except for the one nagging issue that always comes up. I've decided that I'm hopefully reaching the later stages of my crush. And my crushes can generally be broken down into these seven stages:

1) The Scope: I might start to take notice of a certain girl for whatever reasons.
2) Introduction: I'll try to talk to her and attract her attention through more subtle means.
3) Infatuation Phase 1: I'll begin staring at her whenever she's around and my concentration might start to get dragged away from other things I was doing. All still very subtle.
4) The Hook: Any excuse to meet/talk to her will do.
5) Infatuation Phase 2: Obsession begins to take hold and concentration is seriously lacking whenever she's around. The most obvious of all stages to notice (apart from perhaps Stage 4: The Hook, which is also an easy one to spot).
6) Withdrawal Symptoms: Whenever she's not around I feel saddened.
7) Closure: this isn't to be confused with actual closure; it just signifies the end of the obsession and the process will loop back around to stage 1 and stay there until the situation is provoked.

I've already made it to stage 6 I imagine, so I can't be far off stage 7. Usually the longest lasting stages are 4 & 5 which are closely related anyhow. I'm getting there.

General Thoughts:
*Bond day on Friday!!!
*Need new headphones.
*I forgot just how much I love this song.
*Cheerleaders...
