Zinc and Mercury continue to crack me up. I knew if I paused to clear the trash off of the coffee table, they'd move, so I took the picture with the trash - and the orange Zinc nest on the rug that was leftover from before the movers rolled it up. (I've vacuumed since, in case you're curious.)
I think they feel pretty much at home already. (And check it out: I get direct sunlight now!)
I don't know what I did in my life to deserve such awesome friends, but sometimes it blows me away.
sugarbeet spent a considerable amount of time on Saturday educating me about what to look for in laundry appliances and escorting me about town to check out various stores. We also stopped by my condo where he took a look at a few things and offered advice and even his services as far as getting those things fixed. I don't call him my Minnesota Dad for nothing!
On Sunday night I had Alan, Colleen, and Graham over. I just wanted to show them the condo, but they showed up with housewarming gifts and helped me rearrange the living room and Alan and Graham even replaced some light bulbs and other minor repairs and said they'd be willing to help with future projects and Colleen offered to help me paint if I was planning on doing any of that. And we walked a few blocks down to
Rudolph's where they insisted on buying me dinner as well. All I wanted/expected was for them to check out my new place!
Of course, they did mock me incessantly for the ZERO (still) unpacking I've done. I was hoping to get a bunch done today, but when I woke up at 9:30am this morning I decided I'd go back to bed for "a little while"... and woke up at 3:00pm. How is that even possible? I have to return all of my Local Motion boxes by September 27 (30 days after vault out) so, if nothing else, that should motivate me to get it done. Or at least get started. You'd think I'd be excited to get settled into the home I'll have for many years. What's up with me?
