how much does a litre of gas cost?

do most americans not know that the rest of the world uses the metric system??

over in november08, people were discussing whether or not they're going to use or make baby books.

one Canadian woman was complaining that all the ones she's finding in the stores were made in the US. see, some pages have pop culture stuff, like how much certain things (sure to inflate within a few years) cost at the time the baby was born. so she writes "How am I supposed to know what a gallon of gas costs? what's a gallon?"

the first person responds that she doesn't know what gas costs either, her husband does all the driving and fills the tank, lol.

the next one tells her what a gallon of gas costs.

no one tells her what a gallon is. until I come along, and tell her "a gallon is 4 quarts, and a quart is close in volume to a liter." and she responds: "Ahh, cause we're paying like $1.30 per litre."

of course, I don't know what that translates to in US dollars...

wtf, books, lj, rants
