IT'S THE GOD DAMNED SEXUAL REVOLUTIONpablotheguitarDecember 9 2004, 02:26:59 UTC
So if you were to ask what party i supported, it'd probably be libertarian. but, the whole sexual revolution that went on really caused a lot of problems. one of them being the abortion controversy. talking about abortion is like tiptoeing around landmines. i really pity those people who use it as "birth control," they're dumbasses. i think you're dead-on about the abstinence, but i don't really "agree with everything you have said." i think that a woman should have the right to choose, and i don't think abortion should be illegal. i think the doctors should be the ones to decide whether or not a woman can have an abortion. definitely if her life or the baby's life is in danger, or if it's rape or incest. but people can't just decide spur-of-the-moment that "oh, i don't think i want a baby right now," after 8 months. i don't think the woman should be charged with murder, unless it's like partial birth or something and her life or the baby's life isn't in danger. to go so far as to call abortion "murder" is absurd, because to a certain extent the fetus is a part of yourself. charging someone with murder for aborting her baby is just as absurd as charging someone for suicide (which is a felony by the way). your article was clearly informed, and there are points where we can agree. but i still feel very strong about the pro-choice side. abortion shouldn't be outlawed, people will just end up going elsewhere or doing it in basements with coat hangers...
