As someone who has no desire to have children of my own, I completely understand people who don't find children interesting. However, there are also a lot of people who do, and babies and small children are often associated with schmoop, which was the criteria for making it onto the list of prompts.
There are 155 prompts, and I doubt that anyone is going to think that all of them sound awesome. If the ones that you don't like make it onto your card, well, that's why it's a challenge.
We want people to be creative and plan, and since there are only 14 child/pregnancy prompts, the chances of someone getting a card where there is no possible bingo without writing one is slim. If by some off chance this does happen, we can talk, but I'd really love to see the way people come up with ways to answer the prompts that do interest them.
As for the holiday issue, we assembled the list very quickly with what we were familiar with. It was unintentionally ethnocentric, for which we apologize. The prompt list has been changed, and more information can be found here. If you have one of the old cards, you are welcome to substitute an appropriate holiday of your choice for the Christian/American ones. (By appropriate, I mean it lends itself to schmoop and your characters would be celebrating it.)
Also? Interesting! I did not know atheists had a winter gift-giving holiday. Cool!
