It's amazing how some simple things can make a house smell SO good. I'm making a Bordelaise sauce to go with double cut rib chops for dinner, and just the simmering vegetables in wine makes the house smell like the French Laundry (coincidentally where this recipe hails from).
Can't wait to get the rib chops going next, oh so yummy, with sauteed mushrooms. My only regret is that it's not chanterelle season, so we are making do with shiitakes instead.
