It is dark here,
This place I’m in.
The light is not faint,
It does not exist.
Feeling my way along the wall
I try to find a way out.
I walk ever deeper
Through this tenebrous labyrinth.
Groping, clawing, feeling
I stumble forward.
I may be going backward,
Or maybe even sideways.
I can escape
But first I must find the key.
The key lies with knowledge
Discernment of what must change.
That is the first step,
The second is no less demanding.
To act, to change
That must be done next.
Reconstruction of one’s self
That is the most difficult step.
To alter what one views as perfect,
But is indeed flawed.
Through that metamorphosis
Light may emerge.
The labyrinth may be traversed
Easily with illumination.
The directions become visible
And easily understood.
The correct path can be seen
And easily followed.
Out of the maze
Back into life.
