Huston wrapup

Yesterday on Metsblog, Cerrone sez:
"From what I can gather, the Mets are likely to make a trade for a relief pitcher, who has experience as a closer [emphasis his], before they move to sign either Francisco Rodriguez, Brian Fuentes or Kerry Wood.
If I had to make an educated guess, I would bet on a deal built around a current pitcher, such as Aaron Heilman, in exchange for pitcher like Rockies RHP Huston Street, who the Mets have reportedly expressed interest in."

This posted with a picture of His Streetness.

I've been pushing for Street to the Mets... but the idea is the Mets would use him as a set-up man. I do *not* think sweetie would be happy in that situation, at all. Mets? Hello? On what planet does that sound like a good idea? Plus, the scenario would very likely involve him setting up for K-Rod. I'm sure THAT would feel just great, setting up for your old division rival. Brilliant.

I did make a final-tribute-to-Huston fanpost on Athletics Nation after the trade. It turned into a communal picspam, which was fitting. Lots of good stuff. It is here:
Athletics Nation: "Goodbye, Huston (a picspammy farewell)"

Someone pointed out that Street's hazing outfit was a Britney Spears costume. Somehow, I never realized that before. Cut to this morning's commute - "Toxic" comes on the car radio. My brain launches into a three-minute vision of Huston in his Spears outfit, doing Spears dance moves along with the track. The dance routine mostly consisted of Shenaynay head moves and Huston trying to show the outline of his crotch through the polyester skirt. But I honestly was not controlling what he was doing - he just WENT. It was how I imagine lucid dreaming must feel.
