dear friends,
guess what i'm in austin. i love getting christmas cards from people in the mail and i love getting meant-to-be-sent-through-the-mail letters handed to me, from cute people.
one time, in 7th grade there was this girl named lana duncan. she was very overweight and people didn't like her because of it. people laughed at her, said mean things to her face, said mean things behind her back. i even remember her crying in class once. in 7th grade, people hated me for no reason too, so i knew very well what it felt like. i decided to treat lana like a human. i let her be in my groups when we had group projects, i let her walk with me in the halls, and we even had one of those notebooks that were so popular back then (where you write notes to each other in class and pass the notebook during passing periods) and the only reason behind us stopping our notebook was because the principal made a stupid rule against them. lana called me a number of times and told me things she didn't tell anyone, about her family, about her anger, and about her depression. so yesterday, i was with my mom at sam's and guess who i saw!!! lana duncan!!!! she was highlighting people's receipts at the door. i wondered if she would remember me and finally when we were next in line, she got this really big smile on her face and yelled out my name! annnddddddd i wanted to cry. so we hugged and tried to talk about things, but people kept coming and she had to do her job. lana duncan!! i felt warm and happy inside the rest of the day. i'm so glad i saw her.
man this next week, i have to make scarves and paint pictures like mad. also bake cookies. and see people that i miss a lot. and see austin that i miss a lot.
two days ago, i drove to downtown austin alllll by myself just to buy a skirt. it was pretty exhilarating, considering i've hardly ever driven on freeways. or had to park and walk downtown alone. usually i have my mommy.
and i'm also very happy to know people named christopher, because they're my favorite favorite.
       k, goodbye and merry christmas.
