I had a glorious 6 days off in a row last week that made all the working hard before and after worth it. We went to Margaret River for 4 days, staying with Nathan's parents on the most beautiful property. OMG. We had the 'big house' to ourselves - a huge two storey Edwardian style house that used to be the Bed and Breakfast part of the winery. Wow ( Read more... )

We popped in to G&Gs on the way home. Pleased to say Grandpa was able to give the woodwork tour :)

heh, he's always up for that :P

How is grandpa going, by the way? Is his mouth any better? When I was there the week before last he was having a lot of pain and trouble eating anything other than noodles.

Same unfortunately. I'm really hoping they heal quickly and he stops feeling so sick...he needs to eat more :( I'll go down there in 6 weeks or so to see how he's doing.

Really? That's not good. He needs to go back to the doctor, it should be getting better by now.

Has he been eating any veges? I tried to explain to granny about acids in things like tomato (how that's why he was saying the bolognaise sauce 'burns') and how you there are a lot of veges with very little acid that could be cooked to soft or mush even that wouldn't hurt him. It was incredibly frustrating because she seems to think that 2 minute noodles are doing him good and he'll be able to eat normally in no time - meanwhile she serves him noodles and custard and cream and nothing with any vitamins at all. He needs vegetables - you need vitamins to heal a sick body.

-- sorry, ranty rant.

The last time I saw him before last week was a couple of weeks before his treatment finished so I don't know if he's gotten any better or not *sigh* I'm sure they're getting better, they must be. Understandable rant, don't worry :)
