Hi everyone!
Here's a quickie update on a lot of stuff, in case you're curious or have nothing better to do:
--My mom is much, much better. She had a reaction to medication and some other stuff was going on there, but it wasn't nearly as serious as we all thought it was. I'm very grateful, but I can't help worrying about her. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts!
--For my major maters project, I will be working on a documentary about
Blackmon Road and the non-profit A Place for Hope. My vision is to shoot certain scenes from the perspectives of different people invovled with Blackmon Road: residents, volunteers, politicians, newspeople, and others. I want to film portions of it to seem as if the speakers are the ones filming. The idea is a literal "look through another's eyes." My goal is to try to edit the footage so that the speakers seem to be making "concessions" to one another. This would all figure back into my theorizing the possibility of a concession in a visual argument (often visuals are read so immediately, it's not as easy as one would think to represent several viewpoints, but film offers the possibility of many images so it seems like a good medium for concessions).
Sean, my committee chair, is giving me a brief project on film editing to get me more aquainted with it. I don't know what this is and should probably be nervous, but I'm excited. Also, I'm taking a digital art class that works with Flash animation (as you know) and also video, so that will help. Plus Heather, the professor, is meeting with me today to talk about the project.
--I'm making an A in the previously mentioned art class, and I'm doing some more advanced animations than the Zelda one I posted. I'll post those or send a link if anyone wants to look.
--Amanda (my boss) took me out to lunch two days in a row. That's why I'm buying us matching "Clemson is for Lovers" t-shirts.
--I still adore my chinchilla.
--I have to do a million interviews this week and next, which is stressful and fun.
--I'm hungry.
