A Petition, A Mess, and the Irish

I can't remember if I already wrote this, but my petition to study abroad in Egypt was approved! So that's exciting. Now I just have to wait and see if AUC accepts my application as well. I'm sure that I will at least get into their study abroad program, but I really want to do their intensive language program that only takes 100 students a semester. I already submitted my application but my teacher hasn't sent in the recommendation yet. It's a rolling deadline that ends April 1 so I hope he does it soon!

In other news, Brad is coming tomorrow! Monday is kind of a random day but he has a lot of time between the end of classes Monday and the beginning of classes Tuesday. It should be really relaxing. My room, however, is still a DISASTER from this weekend. Sticky cups everywhere, cards strewn about, corn chip bits smashed into the carpet, tank tops and skinny jeans everywhere... you know how it is... all the clear indicators of a great weekend. My room has become known as "the shitshow" to the entire cheerleading squad. It is also the new pre- AND post-gaming room. Fun times. Now let's hope I don't get a new roommate so that I can keep using Laura's old dresser as a bar.

I'm drinking a caramel mocchiato right now. DAMN these things are good! It's really helping me get through all this reading for my Modern Ireland class. I have my first paper for it due Wednesday and I am really behind in the reading. I'm supposed to be writing about how the "interests and perspective" of the British and the Irish governments were "parallel and divergent" between 1660 and 1800. It's one of those "To what extent..." papers. So annoying. I don't really even know where to begin. Uh-oh.

I should probably figure out a thesis.
