DBSK Personality (in my opinion)
Okay. My friends and I are, for the lack of better term, "labeling" people based on their personality or temperament. We don't do this to judge other people. Rather, we tailor our actions/ways in interacting with them through our perceived temperaments of them. We also use it to understand other people's actions easily without going through the tedious and in-depth analysis.
For your information... (I'm not gonna do the formal and didactic way of presenting stuff I've researched)
According to Behavioral-Developmental Initiatives, temperament refers to behavioral style, the how of behavior, while personality describes the what or why of behavior. It is very different from a person's character. A person's character is a mix of the four basic personality types: Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic, and Phlegmatic. However, the personality itself is built up of two completely different traits: character and temperament. (http://www.askwomennet.com/different-types-of-personality.html)
A quick overview of the basic types of personality I'll be using:(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_temperaments)
1. Sanguine - sociable and pleasure-seeking; impulsive and charismatic; warm-hearted, pleasant, lively and optimistic; "people-oriented extroverts."
2. Choleric - ambitious and leader-like; have a lot of aggression, energy and/or passion, and try to instill that in others; can dominate people of other temperaments with their strong wills; can become dictatorial or tyrannical; can quickly fall into deep depression or moodiness when failures or setbacks befall them; "task-oriented extroverts."
3. Melancholic - introverted and is given to thought; very (or overly) pondering and are both considerate and very cautious; can be highly creative in activities such as poetry, art, and invention - and are sensitive to others; susceptible to depression and moodiness; "task-oriented introverts."
4. Phlegmatic - relaxed and quiet; tend to be content with themselves and are kind; prefers to observe and to think on the world around them while not getting involved; passive-aggressive; "people-oriented introverts."
Because of the lack of better things to do (and motivation to do better things), I decided to apply it to the dudes in Dong Bang Shin Ki.
DISCLAIMER: My observations are based on what I have seen and read for the past four years. It might be affected by my personal biases and materials (e.g. fanfics and whatnots) that I have encountered over the years. AND I don't personally know them so I might (most probably) be off the mark.
Note: I put two traits on each dude since a person is a mixture of all. It's just that these are the dominant traits I can observe in them. I, personally, am Phlegmatic-Melancholic.
Here it is:
Kim Junsu - Sanguine, Phlegmatic
Park Yoochun - Melancholic, Phlegmatic
Kim Jaejoong - Sanguine, Melancholic
Shim Changmin - Choleric, Phlegmatic
Jung Yunho - Choleric, Sanguine
Notes:
-Maybe this explains why JaeChun are 'soulmates' since the two of them are the only Melancholic people in the group. And the two of them are the brooding type of people. Maybe that's why the two of them have the most songs composed for DBSK and/or JYJ.
-Notice that Changmin and Jaejoong have no temperament in common. They're called 'soulfighters' for a reason. haha idk
-Yunho is the leader, isn't he.
-I am too lazy to organize and verbalize my thoughts.
