This is really going back into the archives. A Canadian band called Steppenwolf, and their lead singer John Kay (whose birth name was Joachim Fritz Krauledat, born in Tilsit, Germany). There's one of their songs that people still remember today: Born to Be Wild.
I think John Kay is a reasonable look-alike for Klaus; the group at the top could pass as Klaus with a certain bunch of thieves, if you squint sideways.
