I took the dog we found to the Franklin County Dog Shelter this morning. I'm the bad guy, but sometimes one has to do difficult things. I frequently tell people that in love and life, the right solution is usually the most difficult one. I'll explain why this decision was made ( Read more... )

So, the end result is that we have an upset and drained family. OlderDaughter(tm) is majorly stressed about starting college (in a week) and this dog was one more log on the fire. YoungerDaughter(tm) is stoic, but clearly upset. SpousalUnit(tm) is likewise stoic, but upset as well. Our dogs are picking up on this, naturally, and are attempting to provide comfort amidst their own moping. Things are decidedly shaken AND stirred around here ( ... )

I think you're probably right. Call it Ch'i, "energy", "vibes" or whatever, something was wrong. I'm a great believer in Ch'i, having seen it in operation on any number of occasions.

There may be something to Feng Shui - I don't know. I do know that a well laid-out room "works" better than a poorly laid out one. Just consider the design of a recording studio and/or control room when pondering this point.

Now -- to say that Feng Shui is influencing the "flow of Ch'i" may be taking it a bit too far... I'd have to be convinced via some good ol' scientific testing. I'm SO boring sometimes!
