ok. livejournal. for real.

ok, so I'm actually going to try to update this on a semi-regular basis. I planned on using it more during the year, but then...I kind of forgot about it. I recently found lots of peoples' livejournals, so I'm friending all of you. soooo hi, all! :)

I guess I'll just update y'all on what I've been up to so far this summer (which really has not been too much. but oh well.)

So- it's summer! yay! I've been really lazy so far, especially on days like today when I don't have work. But I went to the gym for a while at night today, so that made me feel semi-productive, at least. But summer's been pretty good overall. Nothing too exciting, but it's going. and it's pretty relaxing. It's really weird that it's been a month since school ended. Crazy. It seemed like summer was going so slowly, and I loved the feeling of having so much of it left. But I know the rest is going to fly by- I think that's starting to happen. It definitely took me a couple weeks to settle into being home, especially since I'm in a new house. It's good though, now. Working definitely makes me appreciate my free time a lot more. Having a routine also makes the time pass a lot quicker, I think.

The only thing that kind of sucks is that living farther away and working nights has made it harder to see friends as often as I'd like to (and I think it's been harder to adjust to because I was used to being surrounded by people all the time at school). I've seen most people (who are home now) at least a little, but I don't feel like I've caught up with everyone still/seen them enough. The next few weeks will be kinda busy but I'll definitely try to make an effort to see everyone more. And visiting Kari with Hillary this weekend will be fun! yay! I'm really excited for that. It'll be something different, which is definitely needed.

And...what else...I'm working. At an ice cream place in my town. It's good, actually. The people there are all really nice, and although I definitely don't know how to do everything yet, I learned most stuff pretty quickly (it's not too hard, haha), so that's cool. I worked my first Saturday night shift this weekend (dun dun dun), which apparently is good since I've only been there a couple weeks, but it was fine. I kind of prefer it when it's busy to when the store isn't as crowded and we have to spend more time refilling things/bringing stuff up from downstairs/cleaning/general bitchwork, haha. Especially when there isn't that much to do. But yeah. That's work. And I've been babysitting too, which is fine. It's another job, and making money is always good, especially when it's needed for things like gas, etc.

So to update more recent stuff, I guess...worked, then bbqed with Bill's (my mom's fiance) kids for father's day yesterday, which was fine. And I went to my dad's this weekend and watched lots of 24. Oh my god, it's amazing. I'm 3 episodes away from finishing season 2, which I started soooo long ago, and it's so good. People from umd really should get into it. I think you guys would like it a lot. So vicious.

aaaand that's about it for now. Idk how often I'll update this, but I'll try to make it at least kind of frequently.

So sleep for me now, and then...errands and stuff tomorrow. no work. Seeing people, though, which will be good. And possibly/hopefully sitting out on my porch swing and reading (harry potter, I'm thinking?) or listening to music or something. I haven't done that in a while and it's so so relaxing. Probably more piano, too- I've been playing a lot. So much more than when I took lessons. crazy. fun, though. I've been working on the Minute Waltz by Chopin (not that anybody will care. but I love it), but I think I'm going to start playing Joplin's Original Rags- aka the music we did our street performers black and white movie thing to! It's not too hard, and I like it a lot- besides the fact that it's pretty cool and I like stuff by Joplin anyway, it reminds me of school and the arts fair and all things bel air :)

Alright. Bedtime. Goodnight, all!
