Ahhh..Nothing like a good Disney cartoon to bring out the best quotes. Especially when it precedes a sappy love song written by Elton John. Not really, but that's all I can think of when Nathan Lane utters those fateful words in "The Lion King". Yes, I really enjoy kid's movies I grew up with, but I can poke a little fun at them as well, ok?
Gas is eating my pocketbook alive. Seriously, I didn't think I would spend so much on my car, but my goodness is it ever hard to keep up with $3.00/gallon gas. Argh. There's so many places I want to go with my car, and so little money to get there!
I'm actually thinking about setting up a photo blog as well, as Livejournal makes you pay (only $20 a year for 2 gigs of storage, but I'm thinking anything free is sounding sweet right about now). We shall see what transpires. I'm thinking about going to blogger, but Google keeps all the information in their files...the price you pay for a free service. Trade-0ffs for most things in life, eh?
Crazy. Paranoid. Probably not the most flattering terms to describe a person you have to deal with, but in this case it appears that my boss is a little of both. I don't mind her hectic schedule, but she's going to learn the hard way that not trusting people is going to come back to haunt her in the end.
Ultimate frisbee is alive and well in my life, as I've found two different games played twice a week, so that I'm out and about Monday-Thursday over the lunch hour. I'm sticky and hot when I come back in, but it's so worth it. I'm hoping to connect with some of the guys some more, and hopeful use this as another ministry field. The comeraderie is there...I just want to minister to them as well. Lord, help me!
Jeroboam's descendants didn't really have it going on. "And the next king did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and God humiliated and slaughtered him to teach the Israelites a lesson"....only to be forgotten the very next year. Seriously, 2 Kings is a great example of how easily a nation and its leaders forget how they got to be in the favor of the Lord.
In some circumstances I feel bad for the guys whose entire families are wiped out due to their wickedness (you don't hear too much about Ahab's descendants any more), but the line drawn by God is very clear. I'm drifting, so it's best to be off to bed. Until Later,
