I read a funny
news story today about a guy that sold his forehead on ebay as advertising space. Hahaha, I love the quote from the CEO of the winning company: "I look forward to an enjoyable association with Andrew - a man who clearly has a head for business in every sense of the word."
For the price he got, you'd think he was somebody famous. I guess he is now. Funny how that happened. It seems like I heard about something similar a while ago, like students on some college campus were walking around with temporary tattoos of companies that paid for the skin space. Weird.
On a more serious note, I've been thinking a lot about what the pastor said on Sunday. He quoted G. K. Chesterton, who said "Christianity has not been tried and proven false. It has been tried and proven hard."
I think that's one big reason a lot of people won't accept Christ as their savior. It manifests itself in a lot of ways. The people that say they're Christians but act no differently make it difficult for skeptics intolerant of hypocrisy. For everyone, changes will occur when they accept Christ. It seems like many people aren't willing to let go of their lifestyle.
The more I talk to people who don't believe in God, the more I think that most people do not have a real, intellectual issue with Christianity. Sure, there are some who truly reject God on a scientific basis, but I think that many times, science is a smokescreen for a deeper, emotional issue. So many people have been hurt by religion or "religious" people. It's heartbreaking to hear the deep reasons why people reject Christ, when He is the only One who can truly heal their hurt.
