I was listening to a few songs from Marilyn Manson's new album Eat Me, Drink Me. Where did his sound go? Anyone know?? It doesn't sound like the Marilyn Manson I loved and greatly enjoyed. Rammstein finally got their sound back with Rosenrot, but did they take Manson's with them? Yes the voice is the same, it's the guitars and the techno and the overall feeling of it. I can't dance to this music like I could with Golden Age of Grotesque What's up with musicians and bands today? It's not a bad thing to not be popular.
Anyhow, how much of the money from the sale of the CD goes to the people that worked their butts off coming up with the music, the artists? It seems to me not very much. For example, a major recording label released a recording of my viola teacher's chamber group without ANY of their consent, so obviously they aren't getting paid from the sales. So that just simply undermines my willingness to go to a store to buy a CD. I probably do so more often if some money went to the artists more often than not.
