"I don't want nations feeling like that they can bully ourselves and our allies. I want to have a ballistic defense system so that we can make the world more peaceful, and at the same time I want to reduce our own nuclear capacities to the level commiserate with keeping the peace."
It is so comforting to know that this lovely statement was spewed from the mouth of one who is to be leading our country.
In his first inaugural address in 2001, Dubya had said: "We will confront weapons of mass destruction, so that a new century is spared new horrors." Four years, and over 100,000 deaths later, Washington is now no longer looking for the most frequently cited rationale for the invasion of Iraq. Great. Let's see what he's going to come up with THIS year.
Nine inaugural balls have been planned apart from a youth concert, a parade, a fireworks display and oh yeah, the official ceremony at noon. The media has pegged the cost of the inauguration between $30 and $50 million, not counting the expenditure on creating an unprecedented security ring around the event. A security ring to keep people from assassinating that stupid hick before he makes up another reason to blow up some other third-world country.

I have recently noticed the Bush Regime assigns friendly names to policies that have very unfriendly results. They put a benevolent, positive, upbeat spin on policies that are anything but. They don't call cutting down the forest to 'save' it "Excuse To Let Massive International Logging Conglomerates Cut Down Endangered Forests Act". No, no. That would be too reality based!! Instead, they name it something happy, like Healthy Forests Initiative. That doesn't sound too destructive, right? Ha, call the way I want to be the first guy to say "TIMBER!" "Cut down those pesky trees because I love camping!"
Or the Clear Skies Initiative? What could be wrong with clear skies? Well, nothing, except that clean air and clear skies aren't what this is about!! Clear Skies makes higher levels of pollution okay, including mercury and greenhouse gases! Maybe I'm crazy, but allowing more pollution is not going to keep our air clean and breathable.
AND even worse, the Bush Regime didn't call the invasion of Iraq "Operation: Line The Pockets Of Our Buddies At Every Weapons Manufacturer And Every Multi-National Corporation Who Gave Money To The Bush Campaign (Including Dick Cheney's Company Who Pays Cheney To This Very Day)". Of course not. First; they scare the shit out of us with endless references to Saddam the "Insane" and his non-existent WOMDs, and then they call the invasion which violated International and US Constitutional Law "Operation Iraqi Freedom”. Red, White, and Brainwashed Americans hear this misinformation repeated day after day, month after month, and think, "I want safety! If you can give me safety AND set some oppressed people free, I'm for it! If Saddam is gonna nuke our ass, nuke them first! Besides, doesn't that oil under their sand belong to us anyway?"

And I am probably going to get plenty of infuriated responses to this entry, but JESUS, look at the statistics. Your nice little president had been responsible for the deaths of 1369 soldiers, an estimated 100,000 Iraqis, and not mention the 20,000 wounded soldiers. Yes, I understand that he had a motive for going into Iraq, but in case some of you have not noticed, the motive was a lie! There are no WOMD, there never were! This man, this disgusting ignoramus, has basically destroyed a large part of our country's patriotism, and shooed away our allies.
