Low Light Photography

Dec 05, 2010 18:10

I read a very good article on Wired.com today about shooting good pictures under low light. Here is the full article - http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Shoot_Better_Low-Light_Pictures?oldid=69136

Highlights -

1 Avoid using the flash when possible
2 Zoom out as much as possible
3 Use a tripod
4. Use the timer function to avoid blur from your hand shaking
5 Adjust white balance to allow for type of lighting
6 Kill the noise in post

I tried a few things with my Canon PowerShot S3 IS, the results seem much better than what I could get without these tips.
