This summer has gone at a ridiculous pace. I've been off of school since May 11th and it's now August 23rd. That's roughly 104 days of summer give or take a few quick addition errors. I understand now why colleges get off an entire more month of school than high school does. There are so many more hours put into college work than there ever were for high school; but I'd rather suck it up during the year and enjoy my entire extra month of summer sun.
Maybe summer felt so fast because I started it off from May 2st - July 13th taking two courses. It was great to knock off 6 credits during the summer but at the same time it made it difficult to just sit back and relax. I can't complain too much though.
There was really a lot that happened this summer. First summer courses, coupled with work and tutoring, and then more work on top of that. Although specifically, work at the Village Club is one of the things that made my summer so great. Even on those days that it was 90 and busy I couldn't ask for a better job. I work with some of my best friends and being with them is more fun than I could ever ask for at a job. As with every summer Michelle, Brittany and I became really close, but I have a feeling it won't just be for the summer this time. Last year we were all caught up in our own school excitement and kind of forgot about one another. I think that this year, at least for Michelle and I, it will be different. I really got to hang out with Paul and Peter a lot too which made things all the more fun. Next summer Paul's not planning on returning to the VC which is definitely sad to hear but hopefully he'll change his mind. Probably not though. We did kind of throw around the idea of going to Ireland together next May though. We'll see how that actually goes.
Speaking of vacations, my parents, myself and Eric all went to Scotland over the summer too. Drew went with Pius to put on a play at the Fringe Festival so we went to see the play and explore Edinburgh. The trip was incredible. Honestly it was beyond words. I was in a beautiful foreign country, taking in the culture, just living up the experience. I'm hoping I can devote my next entry to describing my trip. I really need to print off my pictures too. I was planning on doing that the day after I returned and now I've been home for nearly 2 weeks and haven't done it yet. That's what happens when I tell myself I'm going to do something - I put it off until I forget about it. I hate that habit. It really needs to change.
This has been a summer filled with new experiences and realizations. I could have never imagined everything that was going to happen this summer.
