I totally understand you because I myself am a non believer. I'm one of those people who think things must be done by my own hands and and I don't a supernatural existence to light my path because it's up to me to see that light and walk along it if I choose to. And believe me, I grew up in a very VERY conservative land, with very narrow minded religious people. I accept everyone religion (only hate thoses who think they need to die to attain happiness by killing other, because that it's not religion, it's sickness).

When I decided to let the world know that I didn't believe in God in any possible ways, my parents didn't mind. They have their religions but they are open minded. My brother started saying I was making the wrong choice and my future would not be good, blah blah blah. The rest of the people started looking at me like I was some kind of freak and black sheep. If only people could change this STUPIDITY.

About your friend, sorry for what I'll say, but is she stupid or what?? She may not believe in Chinese important days, but at least some respect would be appreciated. Even she has ancestors and loved ones who already passed away and I'm sure she is wishing them well. Why act like some ignorant spoiled kid in a situation like this? I just hope she comes to her senses and realizes not everything is written like her religion says.

I know.. I also think she's stupid but *shrugs* there's nothing I can do about it. She's one of those too-delusional, too-religious and too close minded people. So, trying to make her understand will probably just result in me losing a good friend. So.. yeah. Some things you just have to ignore, I guess.
