Although, honestly, it looks like the last time I was here was April 2011, and I swear it's not that long. I haven't been that busy.

Also, I like staring at pretty pictures, too (lately of the Hawkeye/Black Widow variety) but I just... um... don't get tumblr, I think.

No, Tumblr is weird. But compelling. But weird. In form/function and also content. And demographics, although that may be my increasing prejudice against young folk. It's a strange combination of either engaging with content too much ('reblogging' posts that other people have made seems terribly forward) and not enough - I get weirdly resentful when I can't just click a heart and move on. Which is bad, and reinforces my uncommunicativeness. Although the AO3 'kudos' button is also bad for that :/

Thank God I'm not the only one in her 30s (oh God, I'm in my fucking 30s. I just realized that. I have been since May. OMFG!) thinking that. I'm pretty sure we were different in their age. But then again we didn't have tumblr...

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I've forgotten how to use ffnet since I started using AO3. I keep searching for a kudos button there (or a like button on LJ *coughs). We're living a very hard life!

Wierdly, I was just thinking that I hadn't heard from you in a while, but since I'm a ridiculously light poster I can't very well gripe at others, even if I have the dubious excuse of not being a writer. I am glad to know you are alive and busy :)
Oh, and try being another 10 years older (when the heck did *that* happen?!?!). I can barely tolerate the 20-something in the next cube (what the he** is that 'ermergerd' crap?). Tumblr is apparently out of my league, I've never even looked. I'll keep my AO3 and LJ, thanks; that's where all *my* cool kids hang out :D

Honestly, I had a pretty low tolerance for twenty-somethings when I still was one (...it's possible I have a misanthropic streak). I find one of the benefits of getting older isn't just feeling better about who/what I am, but also not feeling obliged to moderate that for other people's benefit - which does extend to where I go online.
One of the good things about Tumblr is that I follow a fair number of people who feel strongly about Hawkeye and/or Jeremy Renner ;)
