talking Wagner with industrial bands

Electronic Surveillance 2009
last night's concert was awesome!

this was my second time seeing Funker Vogt. they were my first industrial show 7 years ago with dave, the only other time they've been here.

i got Boxed Warning's cd.
i always love Rein[FORCED]
i didn't really listen to Interface because i was hanging out with
Funker Vogt!!!

dave let me in half an hour early. i really like the pgh industrial kids. they're all really nice. getting to talk to the bands is cool, too. the one kid from Boxed Warning is super nerd hot. i sat at the merch table with dave for their set.
i went down front on the dance floor for Rein[FORCED]. everyone was dancing! i've never seen the crowd so into a show. it was jim's first show after beating cancer! all of his friends were excited.
after their set i ran into this dude i met recently who is friends with Funker's touring DJ, DJ Noir. during Interface's set he took me back to meet them. kinda silly to be excited, since i'd been hanging out with their merch guy before the show. i would have talked to them then but didn't want to get in the way of setup.
Noir told them i wanted autographs. since it was a surprise i hadn't even thought of that and had neither anything for them to sign nor sign with. they found a sharpie and all signed my arm. the keyboard player comes off unfriendly but i was assured he isn't. i understand; he's just very german. the singer wasn't around much. i talked to the older guy, the guitarist, a lot. this is his longest time away from home. they didn't get to see pgh much, so we talked about germany. he's never been to Neuschwannstein, which is my favorite place in the world. but that led to opera, specifically wagner, and the Ring Cycle festivals.
i was right in front for their set and they all waved at me, but he winked at me and pointed several times, and gave me a hug before their first encore.

heehee, to cap off the night DJ Noir gave me an Alter Der Ruine hoodie. but it's a 2XL!

shows, concert
