Last night's dream

I don't remember a great deal of my dreams but for some reason I have remembered a couple of them this week - this one was slightly bizarre.

I dreamed that I was about to embark on the cruise, but there was a little bit of time left before the ship pushed away so I decided to run into town.  For what, I don't know... sightseeing, groceries, who knows.  Well the town I was in was the town where I went to college - Macomb, Illinois.   (The only body of water there is the Lamoine River, which is I think about 3 feet deep.  Oh, and Lake Ruth which is basically a pond in the front of campus - also known as Piss Pond because that's where drunk people take a leak on the way home from the bars).  And it was one of those dreams where you are where you are, but it's not really where you are.  Macomb in the dream was really hilly, sort of like what you would picture a coastal Italian village.  There was definitely a port and a large body of water for a ship to be in.  Anyway, I was up in the hills at the town center doing my shopping or whatever and I hear the ship sound its horn.  I remember looking down the hill and seeing the ship with the signature Carnival Cruise Lines smokestack and thinking "oh shit, I'm gonna miss the boat!"  About that time, my cell phone rings and it's the cruise director to let me know that I'm missing the departure and I need to hurry.  (Really?  No Shit!)  She said she tried my other number but I did not pick up.   We talked for a moment and then I continued on my way to the ship.  But not before realizing I should stop by the dentist to have my teeth cleaned while I was in town.  I get to the dentist and got in the chair and they had the sucker thingy hanging out of my mouth and the dental assistant says that they would give me a pedicure as well... and stuck my feet in this pedicure machine which was not unlike a bowling ball polisher.  All this time the ship was still in the port but it was leaving all at the same time.  I don't know if I made it or not, as this was about the time I woke up...
