i know my entries are sporadic. sorry.
got laid off from my job at the coffee shop. so i took a train to austin. it's so clean and so GREEN! a total 180 from the desert and smog from mexico where i am. it was beautiful.
just got back. went to go see Dane and my family. i ended up just staying with my family for most of it, as things started getting awkward with Dane (and things keep getting worse). i haven't spoken to him since i left, except for a string of angry text messages i sent when our friend Celeste told me he had been hitting on her (turns out she was just really drunk, now i have a whole new can of worms i have to sort through).
i have been reading a book on spirituality/existentialism called "THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE UNIVERSE" and it's changed my whole life. mostly the way that i think and react to situations and life, but the point is that my life is a thousand times better and so is my relationship with myself and God. i recommend it to everybody but be warned, it is a really hard and long read. thus-far it has taken me about 2 months to finish, but i am blessed with a whole new outlook.
my cousin Tyler's band is recording at the ranch tomorrow. then they're going on an international tour. watch for 'THE DA' (digital analog) in your city soon.. they are a poppy dance/rock fusion group that reminds me a bit of The Rapture. i've also been working on my own music, i'm currently writing with Manuel Calderon, an engineer at the ranch who used to work at West Lake Studios in LA and has worked with Michael Bolton/Rihanna/Yeah Yeah Yeahs/etc. hoping to get recording off the ground sometime next summer or fall.
