It's all coming to a close
So today wasn't too bad. Well actually it started out a little annoyingly.. I got up around.. 10:30, or so. I had to go to the court to pay off my damn fees and then "we'll discuss what happens after that.." is what my probation officer told me on the phone. Ugh.. :S I just hope I'm not in more trouble.. I had all year to pay them off and it hasn't been a year yet..
Anyways I get up then my mom also has some other appointment she needs to get to. She wonders why I didn't get up earlier to go to the court. (wtf.. I'm not about to get up at an early hour on my day off. Hell, even on my working days, as I work the second shift I get up around 10) I ask when she's ready to go, and she gets ready and we leave. I think it's about 11 at that moment, and my dad tells me I need to be back home at 12 as we have to leave then to get to Johnstown for canvassing. I say okay, we'll make it. Not sure why I thought that initially.. like even if we did get to the court it's not going to exactly take me a second to go in there and pay the fees and leave. Well as we are driving down the road my mom is yelling at me the ENTIRE way (ugh.. she had some upsetting news earlier and took it out on me) she tells me just then she doesn't have time to go to the court with me but has the appointment I need to drop her off at which was in a few moments at that time. So I take her to that and decide meh, I'll just go to court tomorrow (or friday as I love to procrastinate) to take care of the fees, and I take her there. The hair appointment takes about 50 minutes.. so we leave late and I drop her off and get home late for the canvassing. I'm REALLY pissed at this point, she yelled at me the entire way there and back, as she was in a shit mood and claimed it was payback for me apparently treating her like shit every morning. Wtf? meh..
Well, the canvassing wasn't too bad. The area we went into and around appeared to be pretty much split.. half obama/half mccain. Then of course those who flat out wouldn't talk to us or shut the door in our faces. I seemed to get those types of people more. :P "Hi I'm from obama for america.. are you planning on voting for obama on tuesda-?" "HAHAHA NOO!!" *closes door in face* ".. thanks for your time." I even had one person.. "Hi I'm from obama for america are yo-" "I'm not interested!" "..bye" which I thought was quite interesting. XD We did get some positive responses though "HELL YEAH OBAMA!!" And we even talked to an undecided republican who after giving him good reasons might be leaning towards obama. I marked a few as possible volunteers for when the next canvassing people went out to pass them a second time. It's not too bad that we got a split split.. especially considering Licking Country is a very republican area. Plus any data collection is ALWAYS good news. We go out again on election day, except that time will be more "have you voted yet? come on I'm taking you to the polls!" It's amazing the election is only 6 days away now. After 20 months of long.. tough.. battles. The day is almost here. XD Here's to hoping.
