"I'm a uniter, not a divider"

Bush: "I'm Jesus Christ, except without that liberal hippy hair"

Some questions:

1. If Bush "wants a peaceful, diplomatic solution to the problem and said any talk of a military attack is 'just not the truth.'", then why did he lead the "United States' refusal to join European talks over Tehran's nuclear program " and "rejected European calls for the Bush administration to bolster the EU's leverage by getting involved"? If he wants a peaceful, diplomatic solution that achieves the "common goals" of the EU and US, why refuse to be a diplomat?

2. If he wants to "continue to speak with one voice and not let them split us up", then wouldn't the best way to ensure unity be to be open to compromise, like the kind of compromises you make at talks with other nations?

According to his logic, we a) have to be united in our stance towards Iran, but b)his diplomatic solutions include refusing to go to talks with Europe. So that means the Europeans either have to bend to his dictates, or they'll be the dividers (and, presumably, responsible for any violence).

Wow.
