There is no place like home?

On Monday afternoon we found a note taped to our front door. I assumed that it was some kind of notice from our apartment office as they recently had a change in staff and ownership. T, as per usual, was the first one to read and she tells me that we are being kicked out of the apartments. I did not expect her to say that at all. It turns out that our apartment complex is being turned into government housing and we are being asked to move if we make a certain amount of money a month. We call the office and are informed that our lease will be honored, so at least that buys us until the end of summer. At the end of August we will be in a completely different place.
I am not looking forward to packing up everything and loading up my home into a truck. I live on the third floor, so moving is going to be great fun. However, I'm ready for a new beginning. New job, and T is headed in that same direction (but, I'll let her tell it), so a new home seems like a good step to take. After six years in the place that we are in now, we have definitely accumulated many things. This also will give us an opportunity to go through all of our things and get rid of everything that is not being used anymore. I want to keep things simple and essential. I will look at searching for a new place to live as a fresh start.
Wish me luck, as many changes are coming my way.
