The "Shrek" soundtrack is much better than "Shrek 2", although the Jennifer Saunders' "Hero" is one of the best versions I've ever heard.

"My Live as a Pony"? Will there be pictures???? ; )

i'm reading a bit of mindless fluffy sci-fi right now (for book club) and one of the characters has had about 60% of his nerves replaced with artificial ones (following a sideways blast from a disruptor). late one evening (after heavily imbibing in personal choice toxins -- rum shots w/lime?) he is wobbling down a dark alley and is set upon by young thugs. they accidentally discover in the attack that his body does "interesting" and "unexpected" things when they zap him with a mild stunner. much torture ensues. it made me wonder several things (since the story is so lame, i have been re-writing the plot lines in my head whenever the reading gets repetitive) about nerves: don't they help you get that "buzz" from your personal choice toxin? if they're artificial, will you get that "buzz" or will the cyber-replacement nerves be immune? what sort of "unexpected" things would a stunner do? super big willy? tongue biting? sneezing? i'm just very curious. (i've SEEN what one does to a real, natural human body, thank you! no. while ( ... )

Actually, new nerves aren't that hard to come by...a few stem cells, the correct stimulating factor & voila!...new nerves! That's what neuroscientists are working on. It helped Chris Reeve regain some neuro-muscular functions before the pneumonia got him.
