What's new, Scooby-doo?

Wowee. What a really fucking long week. (Oh god it's only Wednesday I'm not gonna make it D:)

BUT. I'm not going to waste time complaining about that because there's also awesome stuff going on!

GLEEEEEE

WHAT. JUST WHAT WAS THAT EPISODE. There's the Glee I've been looking for: lulzy, fun (fun fun fun), off-beat, with a few touching moments to keep me hooked. Yes, I am currently looking at the episode through rose-colored glasses. Soon enough I'll realise it was too sappy, or that Finn pissed me way the hell off, or that I still dislike Karofsky and I still find Kurt/Blaine dull*. But right now? I am going to indulge, and enjoy the hell out of this.

*Note: Their dance at the end was still super cute, negl. And Kurt looked fierce when he decided to go back in to the dance. Still don't ship it, really, but that stuff was a-okay with me.

Other people have summarised the awesome of this episode better than I ever could have, so I'll just bring up a few points:

1) Rolling in the Deep: wasn't a huge fan of the cover, but I adored the scene. Not even exaggerating, I literally paused my download after the song and wrote 600 words of lead-up to R/J hate-sex. I never write porn. This is a first for me. It's not done, but once I figure out how to integrate that with the lovey-doveyness of the rest of the episode, I am finishing this fucker. That scene was hot. JGroff, never stop singing.

2) Brittany: Gurl. Seriously. I love her sfm right now, I can't even express it. It was like, whoa who are you and can you never ever leave? Stealing errbody's dates, slowdancing with some random extra, helping Santana with her multitude of feelings while still being dimwitted, adorkable Brittany. Her dress, omg.

3) Quinn the Queen and Miss Rachel Berry: I haven't shipped these two so hard since Throwdown/Sectionals. Rachel talking about Quinn's eyes, about how pretty she is, and about how she's so much more than that as well ♥ And hoorah for both of them, for getting over all of Finn's shit. Let's hope it lasts. They're both so much better off without him tbh. They should run off and hang out in New York, drinking coffee and talking about their dreams and their futures. Puck can take Finn aside and teach him how to be a douche without being an asshole while they gallivant around the Big Apple.

Doctor Who:

This BAMF. 'Nuff said. I adore everything about S6 thus far, and I expect great things out of Neil Gaiman this Saturday.

The X-files:

^ Totally unrelated gif. Deal with it.

Gethsemane/Redux/Redux II -- JFC. How can three consecutive episodes be so phenomenal? Mulder tugs at my heartstrings so much in these eps, you just really feel for him. That scene of him crying while watching the debate about the existence of extraterrestrials after hearing that Scully's cancer might have been his fault... and Scully. Gillian Anderson was amazing in these episodes. She went from badass to heart-rending in the blink of an eye.

SPEAKING OF: I couldn't find any gifs for these episodes (besides a million scully-with-cancer-in-the-hospital gifs, which are awesome, but not quite what i was looking for), like, anywhere. I fail at internet. Can anyone rec a good place for gif findind (like, specific tumblrs, or comms, or whatever?)

So... anyone know of good information websites/books about the 1920s? Not asking for any particular reason, just wondering...

writing, glee, the x-files, joy to the world, i'm not sure what this is, fandom, gettin it right, doctor who
