previous Jung Jihye jumped out of the car before her driver could park the vehicle. She had booked the first ticket back to Korea after receiving Yunho’s call. She had sat restlessly in the flight and fidgeted with everything and anything within her reach and it didn’t help that it was a near twelve hour flight. As she rushed to the hospital Yunho’s voice kept ringing in her ears;
”Noona”
“Yunho-yah, what a nice surprise! I’m so glad you remember that you have an older sister-“
“Noona. Noona ,you need to come back to Korea now. I found Hyung.”
“What?! Where? How? I mean, how is he? Where is he? Give him the phone, I want to talk to him. C’mon Yunho, give him the damn phone.”
“He’s. He’s dead.”
The rest of the conversation had been a blur, something about an accident and Jinho dying on the spot and his wife being critical; but Jinho was dead. Her brother was dead.
By the time she reached the reception, she was out of breath and panting, tears pricked the ends of her eyes but she kept her composure. “Excuse me.” She gasped at the lady behind the counter. “Excuse me. Jung, Jung- “
“Noona?”
She spun around when she heard that familiar tone of voice and spotted Yunho standing a few feet away from her. He looked tired, worn out, pale; he had aged ten years in the span of one day.
“Oh, Yunho.”
She ran to her youngest brother and embraced him; he immediately clung on to her, burying her head into her shoulder. “Where is he?” She asked, pulling back. “I want to see him.”
“Noona, I don’t think-“
“No. No, I want to see him. I want to see my brother. I haven’t seen him in God knows how long so don’t tell me I can’t. “
Maybe it was the conviction in her voice or that Yunho didn’t have enough strength in him to argue, he nodded and led her towards the morgue. His stomach churned when he saw the pale white door for the second time.
“Noona, I really think it’s a bad idea.” Yunho rasped, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Yunho.” Jihye clenched her jaw. “I am not asking you, I am telling you and by every sibling law there is in this world, I order you to obey me.”
And Yunho had to give in to his sister.

She held on to Yunho’s arm tightly the moment she saw Jinho lying there lifelessly. Tears that been threatening to spill finally rolled down silently as she stared at Jinho.
“Oh God.” She whispered. “He didn’t deserve this. He didn’t deserve any of this.”
Her grip around Yunho’s arm tightened and the younger patted her gingerly, holding back his own tears. If she thought this was bad enough, he was yet to tell her about Jiyool.
“How is his wife? Where is his wife? I want to see her.” Jihye looked at Yunho, wiping her tears with her sleeve. “I need to see her.”
Yunho nodded and ushered her out. She leaned against the wall and sighed; “Have you told mom and dad?” She asked softly and Yunho shook his head. “I was waiting for you to get here; I don’t know how to tell them.” Yunho managed to reply.
“Fair enough,” Jihye nodded. “Now, let me see my sister in law.”

Jaejoong stood up when he saw Yunho bringing in some lady towards his sister’s ward. Yunho smiled at him weakly; “Noona, this is Jaejoong; he is Eun Mi-sshi’s younger brother. Jaejoong-sshi, this is my sister, Jung Jihye.”
Jihye left Yunho’s side and walked up to Jaejoong, the latter tried to smile at her and when he went to bow down to her, she caught him and hugged him. “I’m so sorry.” She said patting Jaejoong’s back. “You need to stay strong, Yunho told me everything. Your sister will pull through.”
Jaejoong hugged her back and looked at Yunho over Jihye’s shoulder and Yunho gave him a friendly smile. “Have you eaten anything? The both of you?” Jihye asked, after she let go of Jaejoong.
The boys remained mum and Jihye rolled her eyes; “I should have expected this.” She mumbled. “Is it alright if I see her?” She looked at Jaejoong. “I want to see my sister in law once.”
At that Jaejoong realized for the first time in that day that he had some sort of family around him. “Sure.” He replied. “But only one visitor at a time.”
“Alright, you both should get something to eat. I won’t take long.”
After receiving half-hearted nods, she walked into the room where Eun Mi was admitted in.
“Your sister is very friendly.” Jaejoong said, smiling at Yunho.
“She can be a mother goose at times, yes.” Yunho replied. “Do you want to get something to eat? A sandwich or something?”
Jaejoong opened his mouth to decline when his stomach made a dying whale sound and Yunho chuckled; “I take that as a yes.”
Jaejoong smiled sheepishly; “I think I will take you up on that sandwich.”
As the duo were about to exit to the cafeteria, Jihye rushed out of the ward; “Jaejoong-sshi, your sister. Your sister, she’s awake!”
