previous Jaejoong’s vision was blurred with tears as he sprinted to the hospital reception; “Jung Eun Mi, she was admitted here in the morning; she was involved in a car accident.” He blurted to the lady behind the counter.
“She’s admitted in the emergency room; second floor, first right.”
“Thank you.”
”Am I speaking to Kim Jaejoong?”
“Yes?”
“We’re calling from City care Hospital; do you know a Jung Eun Mi?”
"Yes, is something wrong?”
“Mr Kim, we suggest you come to the hospital as fast as possible, this young lady has been involved in an accident and she is seriously injured.”
Jaejoong stared into the room through the window and felt his knees wobble; there she was, on the bed, she looked pale and weak and like she was dying. There were screens monitoring her heart beat, her pulse, and her glucose levels. Jaejoong tried to push down whatever it was that was making its way upwards in his throat. The doctor inside the room looked up at Jaejoong and gave him a slight nod and tucking the clip board he held, the doctor walked towards the door.
“I’m assuming you are Kim Jaejoong?” He spoke, closing the door behind him.
“Yes…” Jaejoong mumbled, still looking inside the room. “What happened?”
“Nasty accident…” The doctor shook his head; “She was worse when she was brought in, she has lost a lot of blood and broken quite a few bones on the rib cage…we have tried our best to stabilise her condition, but …”
“But what…?”
“Her breathing is unsteady, we think one of the broken ribcage bones might have punctured her lungs…we can only be sure if we take her into surgery but she’s too weak for surgery.”
“If the surgery is going to save her, then I think she should go into surgery.”
“I don’t think you get it, Jaejoong-sshi. She might die.”
Jaejoong stared at the doctor; “Can I go in?”
“Yes of course and I think I should tell about her husband…”
“Her - her husband?”
“Yes…He died on the spot. There was nothing we could do, I’m sorry.”

Yunho stared at the entrance to the morgue; this was not happening, he did not get that phone call earlier in the morning, this was all a bad dream and he was going to wake up any moment now.
“We’re sorry for your loss, Mr Jung.” The doctor said and Yunho nodded mechanically. He stepped into the room and shivered slightly; the room had a feeling of death all over it; it was cold, dark and gloomy and it scared Yunho.
He blindly followed the doctor and came to a stop when the doctor did; “For verification purposes.” The doctor said pointing to the body covered in a white sheet; Yunho dreaded the moment, he briskly nodded, wanting to get it over with.
He cringed when he saw the face; bruised, burnt and lifeless. The body’s lips had turned blue, skin looked like wax; cold and artificial, Yunho found it hard to believe that the body was alive at any point.
“This is Jung Jinho.” Yunho said, looking at the doctor, hoping he would cover the body and the doctor did just that.
“Thank you.” The doctor said, noting something down on a clipboard.
The moment Yunho stepped out of the morgue; he quickly made his way to the gents’ washroom and puked his breakfast out into the toilet.
….Hyung will always be there for you, even when Hyung is not around.”
“You lied to me…” Yunho thought bitterly, splashing his face with cold water. “Where are you when I need you the most?”
He walked out of the washroom and the doctor met up with him again; “Mr Jung, thought I should let you know, your sister in law is in the emergency room though.”
“What?” Yunho frowned.
“She’s very critical but we are trying our best.”

Jaejoong stared at her and slowly took her hand in his; she looked weak; he had never seen her like this. An oxygen mask was strapped on to her face connected to the tank that stood behind her bed. He watched the all the monitors and tried to make the head or tail of it - he couldn’t. She had always been the strong one out of the two of them; emotionally, at least. She was the stable one, the one who could go through hell and not complain about anything, she would smile and endure it, hoping everything would be better soon.
“But I am always there for you, alright? Even when I am not around, I am there for you.”
“You better pull through this…” he whispered, grazing the pad of this thumb over her hand. “You put me in a spot here, I hope you know that. Mom and dad don’t know about this and I have no idea how I am going to tell them…”
Her hand light lightly shivered under his and he sighed; “I’m here…I’m here for you, relax and don’t worry, you might mess up your breathing again.”
“The doctor told me about your husband, I’m sorry.” Jaejoong spoke, softly. He didn’t know the man, but he truly felt sorry for his sister. He assumed he must have been an amazing man and kept her happy for the past ten years. This was the first time Jaejoong was seeing her, after ten years.
After the night she had ran away, their parents were furious; especially their dad. He had shaken with anger and had sworn loudly, there was to be no mention of her in the house and the entire family had to acknowledge that the Kims had only one son and he had no other siblings. And so this was followed, Jaejoong was treated like he was a single child; everything that held proof that his sister lived with them was either thrown out or given away to the less fortunate.
Jaejoong slipped his hand out of his sister’s and stood up, he was going to have to tell his mother and father; he just didn’t know how to. He walked out of the ward and met with the doctor on duty.
“Please keep me informed about her status, every hour if you can. It is absolutely necessary.” Jaejoong spoke to the doctor.
“Mr Kim, what about your brother in law?”
Jaejoong felt his face harden; he bit the insides of his cheek and looked the doctor in the eye; “I am sorry, I don’t know him and I want to keep it that way.”
Before the doctor could say anything, Jaejoong walked away.

Yunho stared at his brother’s body, dead body, through the small window on the door and tried to breath out evenly. His brother was dead.
Dead
The last time he had seen his brother was when the older was pulling his car out of the garage and running away with that girl. He hadn’t seen or heard from his brother ever since until this morning.
He had no idea how he was going to break the news to his family. Ever since his brother had run away, his mother and father were broken. They couldn’t function properly for weeks together, his older sister had tried her best to pull the family together and hold them tight but nothing had worked. There were days when neither his mother nor his father would show up for meals. They would sit in their bedroom and blame themselves for breaking the family; after all, their son had just fallen in love. He hadn’t committed any crime.
For months, Yunho hated his brother, like how his brother had predicted him to. He wanted to forget about him but he just could not fill that big gap in his heart, he was Yunho’s big brother, his Hyung, his role model, his best friend, his mentor.
“Come back.” Yunho whispered, eyes welling up again as he stared at the body being covered in that horrid white sheet. “Please, just come back.”
“Mr Jung, is everything okay?” The doctor asked, walking towards Yunho.
“Yeah, just” Yunho sighed. “Just.”
“I understand.” The doctor nodded; “Please, you need to pull yourself together. Would you like to see your sister in law?”
Yunho stared at the doctor; his sister in law? She was still alive, she was critical but, she was breathing.
“In a while.” Yunho replied and the doctor nodded again and walked away.
He sat down on a metal chair and tried to calm down; he pulled out his cell phone out of his pocket and quickly dialled a number.
“Noona.” He spoke when the person on the other end received the call.
“Noona. Noona ,you need to come back to Korea now. I found Hyung.” Yunho swallowed the lump in his throat.
“He’s. He’s dead.”
