Don’t believe the haters. Aaron’s got the goods. And this was actually a lot of work, so if you don’t appreciate it, you can fuck hell.
A month ago, the Mothballs played at thee Park side’s Budget Rock Showcase. My expectations were very low, so it was actually pretty fun. Thankfully, we weren’t stuck with the opening slot, like last year. This honor went to Special Ed! I felt bad they had to play at 4:30 in the afternoon, especially with all the shitty bands booked for that show. We played. The legendary Shane White approached me and complimented my bass playing. I felt good about myself. His band, the Vaticans, played, and the compliment depreciated in value. A set by the Teenage Harlets reminded me how fun that band is. I think I got a pretty good picture of the Pets. Best band of the night: the Fe Fi Fo Fums. They are now banned from thee Parkside. The Suspicions were good, too, but alas, no picture.
Battleship Shmattleship. I don’t mean that as an insult, I just wanted an excuse to say “Shmattleship.”

Carlos had a birthday show a couple days before said holiday. A few of us dressed up like the birthday boy. Mike and Carlos dressed up as each other; is there a name for that fetish? Dreamdate dressed up like red blobs…. just kidding. Yes, the Mothballs played. Other bands, too.
