being in a band IS COOLER!! untill I was a member of the swiss family skiers I didn't get much action. wait never mind actualy as soon as I joined the swiss family skiers the action stoped. awe shit./;
omg i totally had to sit through a lame conversation last night about "free jazz." i dont know what it is or if its good because im not a jazz buff, so i just interjected with, "i think they should tax it." one of the guys happened to be the singer from the Full Moon Partisans, who i have nothing against but is definitely part of the "cool/hip faction" of the Mission indie scene. i had some Budget Girls going on in the background, which he dug and it gave me a rare opportunity--especially in sf--to talk about my crush on dirty garage rock and blow his mind with a short teach-in about our bay area garage heros. he also "encouraged" me to start a band...i guess i dont look like the sort? and then he was suprised to know i was a drummer.
i wasnt saying all the stuff to make myself sound all cool or superior to a guy in a hit indie band...i'm just agreeing w/you that being in a band doesnt really mean anything, except hoping one day to get free beer for playing shitty music, and maybe make out with more boys.
Do you think people care about what you have to say just because you are in a band? Aaron, no matter how many bands you are in, i still don't want to listen to your bullshit.
Well, if someone took the time to click on my lj-cut link, I will assume they are interested in what I have to say. In regards to why anyone would listen to me, I'm guessing it has more to do with my superior intellect and writing skills than my musical prowess.
