weird, lame entry #1

I like our scene here in the east bay. It needs more records, though. Not cheap-o CD-R releases. Records! I got my hands on a test pressing for the new Dreamdate single. There is an annoying amount of mysterious distortion in the vocals (not that this has prevented me from excessively listening to it). It might be the girls’ fault for using the letter “s” in their lyrics, or it might be the mastering plant’s fault for not being able to pack that much poppy goodness onto one little slab on vinyl. Nonetheless, the process will probably end up costing more than it should. Which sucks! The Mothballs are having similar problems funding our releases. Harold Ray’s single is still sitting in the can after being rejected by Boom Boom of Renton, to my knowledge. I guess what I’m getting at is that our scene needs a label.

Well, I guess what I’m really saying is that our scene needs a label that doesn’t trouble themselves with sleazy folk musicians or put out a bunch of shit and go out of business when Green Day pulls their back-catalog.

Well, I guess what I’m really saying is that our scene needs a label that puts out records for my bands and friends’ bands.

Well, I guess what I’m really saying is that someone should give me a lot of money so I can put out music I like. I won’t spend (much of) it on booze, I swears!
