I hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday!  2009 promises to be a wonderful year!  I know I plan to make the most of it.  I hope all of you do, too!

To get things off to a fun yet informative start, I've decided I'm going to create a poll!

Poll Looking AheadI'm going to leave the poll open until next Monday.  Everyone, please take a few seconds to fill out the poll ( Read more... )

lols. If I had any good maketing I probably wouldn't be a starving artist.

It just seems so weird to me... that no one seems to want to do anything with anything. I really hope more people join now that RL things even out.

I always feel like if you throw more things at people, at some point someone would want something, yu know? Kitchen sink theory.

I was going to submit a script for the short film deal, which was so awesome of you, but I wish I was a little ...closer to you? Haha, protective, I guess. Like... 'But I'm not there. What will happen to it? Will it grow up okay?' Silly, I know.

I kinda feel bad about entering all the time, and then winning when other people vote, because of the intimidation thing... but I think you should advertise to those screenwriting comp websites. Even if people here are new to screenwriting, I think that they could benifit by having that added serious-er competition... even if they just watch, they'll be learning. And it might cause some of the more serious writers in this group to submit more.

Do you have a list of places to advertise, like with the lj invitation system, that I could help with? I'd love to see more people who want to write here. :D

After I replied to you, I got to thinking about posting to free screenwriting contest websites and I have to say that I have to agree with you. While the competition might be tougher, in the end it will only make everyone into better screenwriters. You learn much more when you're challenged than when you're not.

I would happily keep anyone posted on the behind-the-scenes production of any screenplays I produce. They would definitely have as much of a say as possible in the project. Being a screenwriter myself, I know how hard it is to let your baby go into the hands of another.

I'll send you a private message about the LJ invitation thing :)

Thanks for being so gosh-darn awesome! *huggles*
