Renaissance Faire
Lets start off with Friday night. I went to see The Forgotten w/ Heather, David, Vicki, Robin, Stephen, and Steve. I thought the movie was really good and there were some good jumpy parts to it. Afterwards we talked in the movie parking lot and went to McDonalds. Then Heather and David, me and Robin and Vicki all went to Vicki's dorm. Robin flashed some people on Acadamy St. She also flashed David and Heather on the way home. Oh, and I "accidentally" hit one of the construction barrels. Robin kept on saying "do it, do it!" So I did-"accidentally".
Saturday I went bowling. I think my average went down like 10 pins to a 130. I bowled horrible. Robin and I went to the mall. We ate at Ruby Tuesday. She knew our waiter. He was cool. He let us take the beer glasses. I also got a new purse-its black.
We went to the Renaissance Faire with Robin and her family on Sunday. I had so much fun there. The story was that Queen Elizabeth (England) visits the village of Mount Hope once a year. Queen Mary (Scotland) has been exiled from her country and travels to Mount Hope that same very day. Mary wants to take over England and claim the land herself. England and Scotland had these duels to decide the future of both countries. We went to the Jousting Tournament. We sat on England's side. Scotland won, only because they cheated. I saw the end of the Human Chess Tournament. Scotland won that too, but only because they cheated again. We didn't stay for the Ultimate Joust so I don't know which side won overall. I'm guessing England, since Queen Elizabeth ruled for 30 years and her spymaster Sir Walsingham ended up killing Mary Queen of Scots.
We also went to a show called Pyrate Brawl. There were 3 guys-Captain Drake, Red Legs McGreaves, and McTavish. They were fighting over who was a better Pirate-Drake or Red Legs. McTavish pointed to me and said "This pretty lady will decide who's a better Pirate!" So he said pick one while he whispered but whispered while everyone in the audience could hear him "Say Red Legs! Say Red Legs!" So I said Red Legs. And Drake got mad at me and said "To think, I wanted to marry you! Well nevermind now!" Then 3 wenches came out and were flirting with the 3 guys. Then 4 of the queens secret guards came out and wanted to arrested them because they were pirates. So everyone was running around the stage and fighting each other. The 4 guards captured the 6 people. The head guard was like "We have you now Pirates!" And Drake was like "We're not Pirates! We're Privateers!" The guards said "What?" Then one guard said "Hey, at least we get payed for this!" And the head Guard said "Well, actually...we don't get payed unless they're real pirates!" So the other guards got mad at her for saying that and they dumped her in the little pool of water. Then everyone jumped in except Drake. Then Drake said "Hey! I've got great news! I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance!" It was really funny and then someone pulled him in the water too. That was the end of the show.
The whole place was cool. There were little shops everywhere. And all the people working there were dressed up in Renaissance costumes. They all talked with accents and said thou, thee, and thy. I saw Queen Elizabeth, she was like 15 feet away from me at one point. She had several guards protecting her. And I was so close to Mary of Scots at one point that all I had to do was reach out and I would've touched her. There were belly dancers that would dance to music in the street. There was this one guy dressed as a pirate who was selling these things called dragons. They were little ugly creatures that sat on your shoulder and moved. Well, everytime Robin and I would go past the shop, we would try to get me to pet his dragon. After 4 times of saying no, I finally pet it. Then we were walking past the shop another time. I saw him a little bit ahead of us and I was like "Oh shit" and I put my head down hoping that the guy wouldn't recognize me. Robin saw him too and she turned right, cutting me off, and said lets go this way. As we were walking away, we heard him yell "My fair lady does not wish to speak to me! I see her turn away!" It was so funny, yet so embarassing at the same time! Anyway, I had a lot of fun. I want to go back next year and but next time I will dress up!
