Zonked but relatively cheerful - bizarre weekend where first exp'd deep joy dragging boys & megan on 3km walk at UQ (so great to see them having a positive fitness experience & so moving how the boys were responsive to my interest & approval re keeping running) & then startling drama when boys' play time on jumping castle rudely interrupted. Smallest boy crunched by older stranger; chin knocked back; onsite medical guys put him in an ambulance to hospital lest neck fractured! Mg left 2 other boys & car keys w/ me; petrifying on all levels. However, drove home safely, & eventually managed to put them to bed @ my place (albeit ludicrously late). I had inflatable mattresses which I had bought for the boys earlier, re a previous visit.... The little guy's neck seems to be ok, fingers crossed - they couldn't rule out a hairline fracture though (!). Boys promptly peed their beds - ewwwww! There is a lot of ickiness associated w/ this children thing. But I can see the Deep Sense of Meaning -- possibility of existential crises at the drop of a hat adds a certain poignancy to daily life. Not to mention gravitas induced by sense of having an impact on people (re earlier fitness joy) ....
