it's great to be back in the city, great to be back in my town...

Yesterday was, by far, the best day of my entire summer. I absolutely love going to New York. I can not WAIT to live there after college.

Anywho...first amazing part of the day - seeing Les Miserables. On Broadway. For $26.50. Yes, please! I give props to any theatre that does student rush tickets for their shows. It is the BEST. The show was absolutely breathtaking. Everyone was on point. Lea Salonga is probably one of the strongest performers I've ever seen on stage. If you haven't seen Les Miz, DO IT. There are so many amazing stage pictures, striking images, and brilliant performances. We all cried like little girls. It was fantastic.

Whilst figuring out what to do during the day, we were standing in front of the Lunt-Fontaine Theatre and saw them packing up stuff from Beauty and the Beast. Kind of sad...a little part of me wanted to see that show. They brought out this entire rack of gigantic gowns that probably cost thousands of dollars and just loaded it on a Mack truck.

Vnyl on 9th Ave. is now my favorite place to eat. Not only because of the sweet interior design and the Elvis, Dolly Parton, Nelly, and Cher-themed bathrooms. But, also, because I ate dinner in the same restaurant with Lance Bass (formerly of NSYNC - you remember him, right?) and Jonathan Groff of that little show called Spring Awakening. Mmm hmm...it was fun.

And, pretty much the whole point of this trip was to see our Britt Shubow perform in Mamma Mia. Imagine having had one rehearsal at 11:00 am after a 6-month hiatus, and then having to perform two shows that same day! Lord. She is amazing. It's so funny to think that now I have a friend performing on Broadway. I love it! And she gave us a tour of the stage and theatre after the show. My Broadway stage debut - HA!

Having a 24-hour day on 3 hours of sleep is fun! I'd do it all again.
