Pilfered from
hastings1066, it's all about books!
Hardback or paperback? - It doesn't matter. Generally hardback if it's a book I've been anticipating for some time and I cannot wait.
Amazon or bookshop? - Either. Amazon's usually cheaper, but there's something to be said for instant gratification.
Bookmark or dog-ear? - Bookmark. You heathens.
Keep bookjacket or throw it away? - Keep. You heathens.
Read with bookjacket or without? - With; it makes a handy bookmark!
Short story or novel? - Generally novels.
Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket? - HP for life, dawg. I have not read any of the Lemony Snicket books.
Stop reading when you're tired or after finishing a chapter? - It depends on the degree of tiredness and how gripping the read is. I have been known to read some books until 3 AM.
"The night was cold and stormy" or "Once upon a time"? - Uh... not sure what this question means; contemporary versus historical? Non-fiction versus fiction? All of the above, I guess.
Buy or borrow? - Buy. I have been lent books, but I always am bad about getting to recommended reading.
New or used? - New. New book smell is the best perfume ever.
Deciding what you buy: bestseller list, reviews, recommendations...? - Usually my own discoveries and new books by favorite authors. However, I'm trying to expand my sources.
Closed end or Cliffhanger? - No preference.
Do you read in the morning, at noon or at night? - Yes.
Odd volume or series? - No preference.
Fave series? - George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire.
Fave book of the ones you read last year? - The Coldest Winter, by David Halberstam. An excellent history of the Korean war.
What book are you currently reading?
I just finished Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen, and am currently reading the latest issue of Vanity Fair. There are some good articles this month.
Fave book of all time? - This is a hard one for anybody, but for me it has to be the third book of A Song of Ice and Fire, A Storm of Swords.
Fave authors? - Oh lord. Martin, Robin Hobb, Edward Abbey, Stephen King, Dan Simmons, Kurt Vonnegut, but really there are too many to list completely
