Hey. I have no idea where to start with writing this, but here it goes. I am really sorry about everything I said and did to you at the beginning of the summer. The truth is, I wanted some time to myself and I didn’t know how to tell you, so I just acted mean about it. That was the completely and absolute most wrong thing to do, and it sucks that I’m just realizing this now. I know before you said you would still like to be friends if I wanted to, and if you still feel that way now, I would like to be friends again. Looking back on it, it was a stupid fight, and I feel so stupid for carrying it on and making it into such a big deal. I have no idea what I was thinking. I know things might be a little bit awkward for us if we’re friends again, but I think if we just look back and laugh at it and think of how stupid it was, it won’t be as bad.
I know we’ve had little fights before and that was like our first “big fight.” I always walk away from our fights thinking about how I can make our friendship better so that we won’t have fights anymore. I’ll tell myself that I’ll try to be more understanding or I won’t get mad or stuff like that, but I never try to do any of those things and as a result, we fight again. I don’t want to do that anymore. I want to move forward progressively when we have fights.
To sum this whole letter up, I just want to be best friends again. Now that we’re about to start our junior year, I need someone by my side. I need a good friend. I think that everyone should have a best friend throughout their four high school years, and I want that person to be you. I’ve tried to hang out with other people, but no one is like you. I can’t laugh and be silly with anyone else, I can’t hate the same people with anyone else, and I can’t talk about music and go to shows with anyone else. Not hanging out with you all summer has been really hard. I’ve been wanting to write a letter like this to you all summer. I kind of wanted to see what school was like if I didn’t have you as a friend, but now that it’s approaching, I’m running scared. I just really hope we can be friends again. If you don’t accept my apology, I will understand. I just hate that I treated you that way, but I hope you’ll believe me when I say it will never happen again. I just want things to go back to the way they were. I want us to ride to school together every morning, I want us to eat lunch together, I want us to walk in the halls together, I want us to ride home from school every day together, I want us to go shopping together, I want us to have sleepovers together, I want us to go to shows together. I just want everything back.
If you decide to forgive me, school this year will be awesome. We have 4th period English with Campbell together, so that means we’ll have lunch together. I have Spanish 2nd period, Pre-Cal 3rd period, and History 5th period, and all of your classes during those periods are in the same hall (French, Alg. 2, History).
Please write back and tell me what you think about all of this. Thanks.
