So this is one of the catchiest songs I've heard in a long time, I think I even prefer it to 'I'm On A Boat' I mean, the song itself is hilarious but the tune and Akon's singing is quite uplifting (not in that sense, dirty readers).
Anyways, what brings me to the world of lj on this night of nights? Meh, just felt like an update of whats happening, what I've been doing and what've I been watching.
Guess I shall start with the news that I have finished my Performance BA at Uni, results will arrive around June and I have to say, I've never been so confident in my academic before in all my life. I've put the work in and I know I have, so I kinda have a rough idea of what to expect, especially if you go by my grades from last semester (two B1's and an A, thanky you very muchly!) so I am sitting on a 2:1 from those results and I have a very good feeling those grades have carried on. Especially for my Script Writing course, I seemed to have been like the only person in the class who absolutely LOVED that module. So much so that I'm thinking of doing a whole lot more work on Script Writing rather than Acting.
Speaking of Acting, I just starred in a short film for the 48 Hour Film Competition. Friday past just there, my friends were given the genre of Horror and the stipulations of the following to appear in the film; a character called Willy Brown who is a builder, a prop being a salt shaker and the line "Quit yer haverin'!".
Needless to say I played the character of Willy Brown and he was the stereotypical sleazy greazy pervy workie bastard. But I won't say much more on that as I got a copy of the film on DVD. Expect to see what happens to him in this fun filled horror =P.
I've also stepped down from the Saturday Meet Organizer for the GA as well, I've been doing it for four years now, I'm about to start Honours Year at Uni and it's just time for a change of pace I feel. So new members will be chosen over the next coming weeks and all the best to those who do get the job =).
Onto less fun news, my lovable work are pretty much at it. A busy month they said, lots of shifts going they said... and yet I get ONE three hour shift out of an entire month? Apparently it's becaused I got told I wouldn't be given gallery shifts due to me talking to other members of staff all the time.
Yes I mucked up, I got caught talking four times in one day... but the fact they forget is I was talking when the place was DEAD. Five hour shift. For the first four and a half hours only six people entered the space and each only stayed for less than two minutes. About fifteen old biddies' showed up at the very end after a class that is run in one of the spaces finished but c'mon, I would've spent four hours literally staring at a blank wall, so I got bored. No one was around, I got chatty.
But I didn't get a written warning, I got a verbal warning. Which wasn't they couldn't afford to give me shifts, it was "We might not be able to trust you with weekend shifts as we can't seem to let you work without a manager around." THAT was the warning I got. But I've never had a complaint from a customer, I've actually been praised on more than one occasion for my customer-relation's (being one of the few staff who isn't afraid to annoy people with questionare's but doing it in such an apologetic way to make sure the customer doesn't feel pressured) so whats the deal? If I was that bad, why not just fire me? You know why? Because they can't. There's no grounds. So I think they're trying to starve me out. I can't afford to look for another job, the flexibility of this one works perfectly for both my work and Uni and they seem to have forgotten just how much I helped them out during a shift crisis before Uni in which I worked 16 days straight 10.30 - 6 some of which were double shifts were I worked shows as well, 6.30 - 10 (during that time, I normally worked 12 - 5 maybe three or four times a week). So yeah, I talked. BIG DEAL! Everyone does it, I'm just the sap who got caught for it, the most GALLING thing of all (which I've spoke about before) is the MANAGERS THEMSELVES WHEN DOING GALLERY SHIFTS HAVE DONE IT! Luckily for me, I don't think they know I'm actually part of the Union so emails are being saved and off to the Union Rep I go.
Not only that, but they can't stop anyone from giving shifts to me if they so chose too.
But yes, fun times!
Other than that, I saw Thor at the cinema and OH MY FUCKING GODS! IT WAS WONDERFUL!
Seriously, my favourite Marvel film to date and I'm the fanboy of all Spidey fanboys! It was just perfect, everything about Asgard, Thor, Loki, their relationships with each other and their father was just spot on and so true to the comic canon. Fantastic film and oh so very entertaining!
I also watched the entirety of Supernatural Season 6 over the course of a few days. It was glorious, a slow paced season tht tried to fit three arcs in one (Sam, Mother of All, Castiel) with an underlying story connecting them. It was a very good season with fantastic episode's but I think it could've been connected better however, the cliff hanger, although anti-climatic was very effective as it leaves me going 'What the fuck is going to happen now?'. So we'll see what goes on there. Dean and Sam btw, worst actors in all of history.
Finally, I've read the Beserk manga, so that I'm now fully up-to-date. If there was ever a world I would never want to live in, by God it's that one. No one is EVER happy, except for maybe Puck. Could you guess that he's one of my favourites? But yes, so much rape, death, gore, mutilation and everything. A lot of which happens to children too. Oh yes, fun for all the family this manga. Still, it's pretty damn awesome. So awesome that the bad guy who you actually despise and hate, later on you do kinda cheer on and then question why are you cheering him? I love stories that are capable of making you do that.
So yes, consider my lj officially updated here and now! You might hear from me again at some point next month or so, considering my update rates =P.
