This was really fitting. I, too, get the feeling that there's little love lost between Derek and the General even thoguh Derek seems to play it off the other way sometimes. I liked the differences Derek felt between the idea of dying for the two Connors.

I think that definitely at the time Derek thought there was no love lost and in retrospect he's feeling guilty because he thinks future!John was putting on a show for him and he bought it.

Or at least that's my take ;)

I really like this. Like you, I always felt that Derek didn't care too much for Adult!John, for all that he respected him, but Nephew!John is a person he'd crawl through glass for, and gladly.

OOh, I love this one too. I love the layers here-- the good and the bad and how Derek struggles with it. How it all comes down to: And it pisses Derek off to no end. Because John is a good kid and he doesn’t deserve to have to become the kind of manipulative bastard who has to deal with that shit.
