And I really like this whole idea... Sarah fixing her mistakes with John. It's like this story answers the question posed in my vid "Where Did I Go Wrong?"
Even though she tried her best with John, she did make some mistakes and was "blessed" with another child to do better by him (I'm not sure of the word blessed... yes, of course she's blessed with another child, but still.. what a damn hard life she knows that boy is gonna have too). Btw, even though we saw little of him, I really like J.D. Sort of like the teenager I expected John to be after watching T2.
And I love how it all fits back in place with the ending of BtR. Sooooo looking forward to the follow-up. When is that expected? Greedy, I know.

And I actually think your vid had something to do with the thought processes that started this story, you know. There had been a vague, "Dude, what if Sarah was pregnant instead of dying" plotbunny, and another one about going back and doing some sort of retcon on BtR, and another about Sarah agonising over theories of time travel and thinking (rightly or wrongly) that he might just cease to exist in there because of the father-from-the-future paradox. But I think your vid might have been the thing that brought them all togethet.
I tried to keep J.D.'s airtime down, because original characters are such a delicate balance, but I like him, too. And he's fun to write as an adult, too - he's shaping up like a bit of Derek and a bit of John. But he's still going to need John after all. I think John Connor is always going to be the messiah, even when he isn't. ;) Unfortunately, the followup won't be for maybe five or six weeks - I'm going on an overseas trip in between.
And I've been meaning to tell you just. How. Much I love Boulevarde of Broken Dreams, by the way. Do you have it available for download? It's definitely ipod-worthy.
