The saga of Murphy

Murphy is home, and seems to be on the road to being his usual loud, lovable self.

So I got a call this morning from yet another vet at the office. I did not like this guy at all. One of those people that is very loud and rather brusk about what he had to tell me, and kept repeating himself. Yes, I understand the cat has crystals in his urine. Yes, you feel that I HAVE to get him a water fountain. Yes, he has to be on a moist food diet. I understand all of these things, I realize it is a big thing, and I want my cat to be as healthy as possible so I don't have to spend another $500+ on something like this.

Thankfully the bill was lower than the original estimate they gave me, so going out and getting the water fountain, and stuff won't be a hardship. The other people at the vet hospital are very, very nice and kept telling me how wonderful Murphy is, even if he did manage to pull his catheter out again last night.

So he's home, I've given him his first pill, which he gave me no troubles with. He goes back in two weeks to get a check up. The hardship of all of this is I need to keep him and Robin separated for the next couple of days to monitor Murphy's litterbox use. Murphy doesn't seem to be bothered too much by the baricade that I've created, but Robin on the other hand meows when I'm in a room he isn't in and then leaps over whatever I've used to try to keep him out. So now Murphy is in the living room, and I'm in the dining room with Robin, who's sleeping on the heater that was turned on this morning - because it is so bloody cold.

I've spent the afternoon looking at sites about cat food and what are best for kitties with this issue. Everyone has an opinion. Right now I'm thinking of looking at EVO or Royal Canin - but right now he has prescription food for the next month or so. So much to think about.
